Bilateral TM

The bilateral meeting was held on 5^th February 2021 between The University of Crete-The Department of Preschool Education-UoC Greece who is responsible from evaluation and Universitate Valahia Targovista –Science Education Department – UVT Romania who is the leader of Concept Paper that is one of outputs of NGSS project under the coordination of Uskudar district national education directorate. The team tackled the concept paper that would be composed of the phases of the analysis of local focus group interviews and local desk research reports. Focus groups are determined as teachers, parents, parents of disadvantaged pupils, female STEM professionals/trainers/researchers/Art and design professionals. It is decided not only what the team of NGSS project do to deliver STEM subjects but also how they merge science with art. It is emphasized that STE(A)M programs can include any of the visual or audial performing arts, such as dance, design, painting, photography and writing. NGSS project also aims to promote a gender unbiased approach to STEM education and increase the environmental awareness and sensitivity of young learners. Especially NGSS project would like to motivate and engage girls for STEM+Arts lessons. In this respect, the parents who have children of different genders would be chosen in order to observe behavioural differences. Also it was negotiated that questions highlighting Social Emotional process should be asked. Possible questions of the interviews for the focus groups were defined. The meeting was over with good wishes.
